Dr.Haresh Manglani did his graduation in Medicine and Post graduation in Orthopaedics from the prestigious Mumbai University.He has trained under renowned teachers and experts at Grant Medical College, Sir J J Group of Hospitals and Bombay Hospital institute of Medical Sciences, Mumbai as a part of his academic training. He also holds the Diplomate of National Board in Orthopaedics.
He has trained extensively in the field of Musculoskeletal Oncology at premier institutes like Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York, USA; Mount Sinai Hospital, Toronto, Canada, Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai, India and Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore, UK. He has also done a fellowship in Bone Banking and Tissue Transplantation under the aegis of International Center for Orthopaedic Education (ICOE) at the Musculoskeletal Transplant Foundation (MTF), New Jersey, and USA. During the fellowship he has visited and interacted with faculty at renowned institutes like Mayo Clinic, Rochester; Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland and University of California San Francisco and Philadelphia Organ Donor Foundation.
As a Senior Fellow at Tata Memorial he was second in command to the attending Consultant and has independently performed more than 500 LIMB SALVAGE procedures using Mega prosthesis, preserving Joint function and helping tumour affected patients live a normal life. He has also performed other limb sparing procedures like Shoulder Hemiarthroplasty (more than 80 cases), Internal Hemipelvectomies, Tikhoff Linberg resections, Brachytherapy for Soft Tissue tumours, Impaction grafting for locally aggressive benign lesions, Rotationplasties, Krukenberg Putty procedures, etc. He has been a key player in the team pioneering the Surgery of Resection, High Dose Irradiation and Re-Implantation of Malignant High Grade Diaphyseal Bone tumours.
Dr. Haresh Manglani is also the recipient of various awards – prominent among them being the Lester Lowe Memorial Scholarship (awarded to only 2 surgeons annually across the world), Louis Odette scholarship of University of Toronto and the Wockhardt Spine Fellowship. He has various national and international publications, lectures and key note addresses to his credit.
He is currently on the faculty at Rajawadi Municipal General Hospital and D Y Patil Medical College where he trains medical residents for the post graduate courses in Orthopaedics. He is attached to various hospitals like Fortis Hospitals, S L Raheja Hospital and Jupiter Hospitals. He also travels to proffer his services in the field of LIMB SALVAGE in Musculoskeletal Oncology at various cities across India.
